As it turns out this bout of extreme depression unknowingly took me on, what I can only describe, as an incredible journey.
It all started when, just as one would, I was clicking on random videos on YouTube and you know, one video leads to the next and so on and so on. Anyway, I came across this video of another woman’s story (saw her on Dr. Phil; love him… he’s given me some great advice) and a few things she said really struck me and I couldn’t let them go. It was more or less about how she turned the trauma she experienced into triumph. So I researched her a bit more, read her book, which then led me to watching her TED talk, and then other similar TED talks and then researching more on those topics and round and round. Something within each and everything I read, watched, listened to or wrote, was revealed. One of these revelations that sits right close to the top of the list is to ‘give what you need’. Ya know, like I working on the premise that I want to be able to offer others what I could’ve used while I was feeling critically down and lonely. And I hope that I can offer that to you… my villagers, here at Where My Village. And I hope that if and when you are ready, you will take me up on that offer by reaching out here at Where My Village or by sharing some of your journey with us. I look forward to hearing from you.
Forever your Villager,
Vanessa
